Overview: Students consider the iceberg while solving a simulated criminal mystery. Given information about events at the “crime scene” and in the suspects’ lives, they work to deduce the meaning of the evidence and the suspects’ possible motivation by considering the other levels of the iceberg (e.g.. mental models of the suspects, patterns in the suspects’ lives, various possible underlying causes of the visible evidence).
